How to Guide for wp editor

The Dashboard is where you land after logging in.

On the left hand side is the main menu. 
 - Become familiar with Posts, Media, and Pages.

The middle column gives a quick view of your website… how many posts, pages, categories and tags.

The right side bar has a Quick Press box.
-This box is the quickest and easiest way to makes posts to your website.
-Under the Quick Press box, is a bunch of links and news you can ignore.

Left Main Menu:
Posts:
Edit:  allows you to edit your content. Mouse over for links .
Add New: Choose a Title. Add your content into the big white box. Mouse over the icons to see all the options available. To add media, click on the Upload/Insert icons, then click Library.
Post Tags: Gives ‘Relevant Content’ to your website.
Categories: A tool that is useful to use when making posts, to easily find content. This helps to organize content in posts.

Media:
Library:  Where you go to view all the media you have uploaded.
Add New: Browse to your file to upload your images, videos or music.
-*note… media can be also be added when you edit or add new conent. However, it is a good habit to upload your media into the Library.

Pages:
Edit: click on edit to view all your pages.
Add New: Choose a Page Title. Add your content into the big white box. Mouse over the icons to see all the options available. To add media, click on the Upload/Insert icons, then click Library.

-*At the bottom of the middle column is a box labeled Discussion with two radio boxes. Allow Comments, and Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page. Uncheck these two boxes if you do not want feedback on this page.

-*Other page options are located in the right column.
-Click the blue button that says Publish to publish your page for the first time, next time this blue button will say Update, to update your published page.
-Attributes. You can publish this page as a main page, or as a sub page, there is a drop down menu to arrange page hierarchies.
Some themes have Template options, and there is a drop down menu to choose a page template if available.
Page order can also be entered if you do not want pages listed alphabetically.
